Understanding the aggression of Israel and USA against the Palestinian

Para ler este texto em Português, clique aqui

For many centuries there was no conflict in the Middle East. Until the nineteenth century the land of Palestine was inhabited by a multicultural population - reaching approximately 86% Muslim, 10% Christians and 4% of Jews in the mid-nineteenth century - living in peace.

The region in 1917, before the creation of Israel

Zionism

In the late nineteenth century, a group in Europe decided to "colonize" the land. Known as Zionists, this group comprised a small minority of the Jewish people. The last will of the Zionist movement was to create a Jewish state, considering places in Africa and the Americas before deciding to Palestine.

The migration of Jews from Europe to Palestine, at first, did not cause any problems. However, as more and more Zionists migrated to Palestine - many with the expressed desire to take possession of the land to create a Jewish state - the local population was alarmed. At one point the fight broke out and waves of violence have become increasing. The rise of Hitler in Europe and the Nazi atrocities, combined with the Zionist activities to sabotage the efforts of allocation of Jewish refugees in Western countries led to an escalation of the people in the migration to Palestine. The conflict grew.

The UN Partition Plan

In 1947, finally, the UN decided to intervene. However, instead of adopting the democratic principle espoused decades earlier by Woodrow Wilson, "self-determination of peoples", that stated: people would create their own state and system of government, the UN chose to revert to the medieval principle according to which an external Power decides to share the land of another people.

Under considerable pressure from Zionists, the UN recommended the cession of 55% of Palestine to the new Jewish state - despite the fact that the Jewish group represented about 30% of the total population and owned less than 7% of the land.

The Sharing of 1947

The War of 1947 - 1949

Although it is widely and correctly reported that the war of 1947-1949, at one point included five Arab armies, less well known is the fact that during that war Jewish forces held a numerical superiority (3 to 1) against the Arabs. There were 3 Jews fighting for each Arab involved in the conflict. More: contrary to what common sense says the Arab armies never invaded Israel. All of the fighting took place in territory that should be the Palestinian state - never recognized or respected by the State of Israel.

Finally, it is highly important to emphasize that the Arab armies entered the conflict only after the forces of Israel having committed 16 massacres, including the brutal massacre of 100 men, women and children at Deir Yassin. The future Prime Minister of Israel, Menachem Begin, leader of terrorist groups, called that episode "splendid act of conquest," adding, "at Deir Yassin, as everywhere, we will attack and massacre the enemy. God, Allah, the Lord has chosen us for conquest”. With this philosophy in mind, the Zionist forces committed massacres of more than 30 Palestinians until 1949.

At the end of the war, Israel had conquered 78% of the territory of Palestine, 75 million Palestinians became refugees, more than 500 towns and villages were destroyed and a new map was drawn, in which all the cities, rivers and mountains received a new name in Hebrew and all traces of the secular culture of the Palestinians were obliterated. For many decades the state of Israel denied even the existence of the Palestinian population. Former Prime Minister Golda Meir once said, "There is no such thing as 'Palestine'."

Between 1948 and 1967 - Palestine is being engulfed by Israel

The War of 1967 and the "USS Liberty"

In 1967 Israel conquered more territory. Following the Six Day War, during which Israeli forces launched a successful attack to Egypt, Israel held an additional 22% of Palestinian territory, according to the International Border decided by the UN in 1948 - the West Bank and Gaza Strip.. Since international law considers inadmissible to acquire territory by war – Nazis were hanged after the Nuremberg Trials in 1946 precisely for waging war of aggression, by the way… These occupied territories do not belong to Israel. During that conflict, Israel has occupied parts of Egypt - after returned - and Syria - the Golan Heights - still occupied by Israel.

A serious and little-known episode was the Israeli attack on an American ship, the "USS Liberty". 200 Americans were killed in the professional episode. As for the episode, President Lyndon Johnson said, recalling the rescue flights and U.S. support for Israel, that "it is not on our best interest to embarrass an ally", the episode was deleted from the history books and news…

(In 2004, a high-level commission, headed by Admiral Thomas Moorer, claimed that the event consisted undoubtedly "an act of war against the United States of America," it was very little released by the media, when that even was ...).

After the War - Six Arab countries occupied by Israeli troops

The recent conflict

There are two primary issues that are at the root of ongoing conflict since the founding of Israel until this day:

1 - The destabilizing effect of maintaining a state with ethnic and religious preferences, particularly when it is a massively composed of people of foreign origin - the original population of what is now Israel was composed of 96% of Muslims and Christians. In the territories occupied by Israel, refugees, Muslims and Christians are forbidden to return to their homes and those living in the State of Israel are subjected to systematic discrimination.

In the wonderful documentary "Peace, Propaganda & The Promised Land," directed by Sut Jhally and with the participation of intellectuals and Jewish activists, Palestinians and Westerners, one realizes how difficult is the life of Palestinians in the occupied territories between thousand complications, particularly relating to economic strangulation and vandalism committed by Israel against all aspects of Palestinian cultural representation, understanding:

_ To destroy entire neighborhoods of Palestinian homes - under the false claim that it is "retaliation" to the suicide bombers - in order to build luxury condominiums that are Israelites.

_ The provision of vital water to the native populations restricted to two hours a week while Jews in neighboring condominiums remains closed swimming pools and watering plants is ostensibly all day.

_ Is true that the Palestinians have control over their own homes for some time (never know when their homes may be considered "interest of national security of Israel" and thus lose their right to housing) however, all roads and passages within the territory that in 1948 the UN declared to be the Palestinian state but Israel never respected, are controlled by Israel. A framework is described as if we had control over the rooms in our house but every time we needed to leave room to room we needed the authorization of reluctant soldiers and foreign tax that control all the runners.

2 - The Palestinian inhabitants as they can resist the continuing Israeli military occupation and confiscation of estates in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. These spaces, reduced by 22% of what was decided by the UN in 1947, should become the Palestinian State, according to the Oslo peace accords of 1993. However, since Israel has not only postponed for 15 years the fulfillment of the Oslo Accords, meanwhile has even increased its land confiscation and occupation of those territories, Palestinians are rebelling as they can…

The moderate Jews point out that these tactics of the State of Israel are potentially anti-Zionists. They claim that there are anti-Zionist groups capable of perpetrating actually harmful acts against Jews on a global scale and the aggressive posture of the State of Israel, violating human rights, practicing war crimes in daily basis and disregarding international law for decades, contributing to violent tarnish the image of Jews in the world.

What remains of Palestine today ...

U.S. involvement

Noam Chomsky, American Jewish philosopher, mentions in "The American Empire”, an emblematic episode: in the mid-90s, Israeli helicopters once again reduced to rubble two Palestinian villages in the peaceful northern border, the border with Lebanon. The Palestinians complained about the use of UN helicopters "Apache" in U.S. massacre of unarmed people. The former "Democrat" president Bill Clinton took an exemplary measure (against the UN and the Palestinians, as usual): 5 more helicopters "Apache" were sent, and staff training of Israeli forces, enabling increased efficiency in future massacres….

According to an estimate of Sut Jhally's documentary mentioned above, the U.S. sent to Israel between 1948 and 2008, more than 100 trillion dollars! Annually, the American taxpayer subsidizes the genocide perpetrated by the U.S. and Israel against the Palestinian population annual values of $ 7 million. One day the Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger has complained: the federal government was sending more money to Israel than to California!

While the U.S. supports Israel on practicing longest military occupation in modern history – the ongoing conflict in the West Bank and Gaza Strip - the chances of peace are minimized.

Check on the video below, a short clip of “American Radical: Trials of Norman Finkelstein ” the views of Norman Finkelstein, a scholar and activist for peace between Jews and Palestinians over the occupation and the brutalities committed by US / Israel against the Palestinians:

And bellow, Norman Finkelstein on the Origins of the Israel/Palestine Conflict

While Israel, a widely recognized as a National State in the Arab world, Israel does not recognize the Palestinian National State, peace in the Middle East will be miserably in the dimension of rhetoric, far from practical, real life, the daily suffering of Palestinians and Israelis.

Lies planted in public opinion by U.S. and Zionist Propaganda

1 - "The region has always been at war." For over 900 years of peace between Muslims, Jews and Christians reigned in Palestine and throughout the Middle East, being broken only at the beginning of the twentieth century.

2 - "The Palestinians do not fulfill the peace accords." The ethnic war that Israel, with strong U.S. support, perpetrates against the Palestinians is a genocide. The Palestinian People defends themselves as they possibly can. Each peace agreement since 1948, removes a portion of Palestinian territory and Israel has never respected. The latest agreement, Oslo, 1993, decreased to 22% of the territory granted to Palestine by the UN in 1948. Palestine accepted but Israel does not respect and does not allow the creation of a Palestinian state. Here confiscating Palestinian lands of diurnal. So: Which people does not fulfill the peace accords?

3 - "The United States is neutral." The U.S. spends more money sending weapons and money to Israel than their own federal states, so they are anything but "neutral."

4 - "All who disagree with the State of Israel are anti-Semites." Israel is in direct violation of international law. Daily practice more than 20 crimes against human rights (Amnesty Intenacional properly analyzed, including arbitrary imprisonment, torture, executions, destruction of houses with their inhabitants desperate inside - check here: http://thereport.amnesty.org/prt/regions/middle-east-and-north-africa/israel-and-the-occupied-palestinian-territories as well as war crimes - bombing of peaceful villages to evict residents and create settlements, expropriation of territories internationally recognized, etc.. Such acts, whether committed by Hitler's Germany or the State of Israel with U.S. support deserve the international repudiation, this is not anti-Semitism. At all! Accusing including many intellectuals and Jewish leaders eager for a true and lasting peace "anti-Semitic" is irrational.
